The service will be performed in The Federal Correctional Complex (FCC)
The facility’s need will vary based on the work requirements/requests of the Chief Pharmacist / Staff Pharmacist but is expected to require an average of 30 sessions per week.
Duties:
- Interpret physician and advanced practice provider prescription orders
- Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy computer and print prescription labels
- Select the correct medication and prepare the prescription.
- Inventory medication and supplies
- Enter data for medications and supplies orders in the prime vendor computer system.
- Maintain minimum quantities on stock items and notify the institution pharmacist of items to order.
- File all reports pertaining to the pharmacy, including patient records.
- Dispense, administer, and record entries for the required medication.
- Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to Pharmacy issues.
- Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed by the Pharmacist or HSA.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Refill and inventory of Pyxis machines & utilization of Scriptpro machine for dispensing, refilling, and verification.
Schedule:
Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally consisting of six (6), one (1) hour sessions per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
- Unrestricted Pharmacist license.
- Completed an accredited program in pharmacy and be able to provide transcripts of the training leading to the degree (Possession a Bachelor or Pharm D. degree).
- Current BLS certification.
- Correctional experience is preferred, but not required
