Correctional RN Job

We are seeking Registered Nurses to work an ongoing government contract at FCI Tucson located in Tucson, Arizona.

• Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff.
• Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure.
• Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly.
• Assist with distribution of medications at pill line.
• Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy.
• Perform skin testing.
• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
• Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x­ rays.
• Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens.
• Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians.
• Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Ability and skill to operate EKG.
• Clinically manage injuries by splinting and immobilizing.
• Attend to medical emergencies.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday, 6am - 2pm, with a thirty-minute break, Weekly hours will not exceed forty (40) per week

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Must be willing to submit evidentiary documentation of their graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing. Providing verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status competency, continuing medical education.
• Must have at 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Must be BLS certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must also provide a certificate or photocopy of your current license.
